TAVA Awards

The maiden edition of TAVA AWARDS has come and gone. It was an amazing night, a gathering of the big names in music, film, television, advertising industry, heads of Governments, Embassies and corporate giants. We were surprised and overwhelmed for the turn out at the event. Though there were no sponsors, the organizers are quite fulfilled and positive of greater things ahead.

It was transmitted live on AIT & DAAR Sat global network, covered by ten other television Channels, (including REUTERS NEWS AGENCY that has transmitted the event on more than 280 channels world wide), twenty newspapers and magazines. Four international stars, (Stephanie Okereke, Kepy Ekpeyong – Bassey, Stellar Damasus – Nzeribe and Bimbo Akintola) were on hand to compere the event in the presence of twenty Ushers and a purple carpet.



This, we believe will be the beginning of a true African Audio-Visual Renaissance towards capturing a major chunk of the global content market share.



Though there were a few glitches and mistakes on some of the event printed materials as well as slight delay for take off time due to logistics and inadequate funding, we strongly believe that those mistakes will only serve as an impetus to further improve the event in the 2010 edition which takes place on July 9th, at the prestigious SHELL HALL of the MUSON CENTER Onikan Lagos, by 6pm.



The Judges on the bench of Tava Awards includes: Five Nigerians, a South African, a Kenyan and a Zimbabwean, although three of them could not be present at the event for obvious reasons. Please see the following attachments.
