It all started as a dream, and later became a vision for perfection. These were unfolded during the Inauguration of the African Audio-Visual Award aka TAVA Awards, which took place at the Sheraton Hotels and Towers in Lagos on the 3rd day of March, 2009. The award is conceptualized by the foremost, film maker, Mr. Okechukwu Ogunjiofor, the man whose first movie “Living in Bondage” gave birth to what we call NOLLYWOOD industry today.
The award is set to reward the content provider whose work is most outstanding with the audience through “Perfect Pictures and Perfect Sounds”. We have beautiful African stories, our problem has been more of the technical quality of our productions. Once we are able to merge the two , “Perfect Pictures & Perfect Sounds” we will be unbeatable, These were the words of the vision bearer.
The event saw seasoned stakeholders from the Nollywood, advertising, and television coming together to endorse the new ground breaking initiative. The support received shows that this will be a turning point for the industry and it is a matter of time, the industry will no longer be the same again.
