Victor Okhai is a producer, scriptwriter, director and film consultant. One of the founders of the Directors’ Guild of Nigeria.
Victor Okhai who holds an Msc in Public Relations from the University of Nigeria Nsukka, has attended courses in film production at NAFTI (Ghana), CIFAP (France), Deustche Welle Akademie (Germany) amongst others. He is also an Alumnus of the prestigious Pan African University Lagos.
Currently the Director of the International Film and Broadcast Academy Lagos, he is in great demand as a teacher and resource person on film locally and internationally and has delivered papers on the Nollywood phenomenon at various Universities and film festivals.
Victor Okhai has sat on the jury of several film contests and festivals including the 1st Nigerian international student’s film festival organized by the National Film Institute, held in Jos Plateau State, Nigeria from 18th – 21st January, 2006, “Killing Africa, Healing Africa” – Goethe Institut’s Pan African Short Film competition (West African zone) 2007, African Movie Academy Awards AMAA 2008 etc. He also produced the 2009 AFRICA MOVIE ACADEMY (AMAA) AWARDS (The African Oscars) for a worldwide Television Audience.
Victor Okhai is a consultant to many organizations on film, television production and broadcasting including Channels Television, Imo Television, AIT, MBI TV, DeutcheWelle (Africa Dept), BBC world service Trust, Goethe Institut Lagos, The German Embassy in Nigeria, Berlinale etc.
A recipient of the prestigious International Visitor’s Programme fellowship of the German Foreign Ministry, Victor is a Director of the Musical Copyright Society of Nigeria, the President, Lagos German Alumni Association and Board Member, Nollywood Business Forum. He is also a member of the Directors Guild of Nigeria, Independent Television Producers Association of Nigeria and the Scriptwriters Guild of Nigeria
