TAVA Awards

FEMI ODUGBEMI is an award-winning filmmaker, writer and photographer. 
Trained in Film & TV Production at Montana State University, Bozeman, United States, he worked for a couple of years as a Producer at KUSM Channel 9 TV station in Bozeman, Montana. Upon his return to Nigeria, he worked as Film & Radio Producer at Lintas Advertising and later as a Associate Creative Director at STB-McCann, Lagos. In these places, he wrote, directed and produced several notable documentaries, dramas and commercials.

A graduate of Theatre Arts from the University of Benin and the Lagos Business School, was an Information Communications Technology and Entertainment reporter for over two decades working with Nigeria's leading papers; namely: The Guardian and Vanguard. He was a pioneer in that genre of modern journalism, and contributed to propagating some of the major developments in Communications and Broadcasting. He has attended big technology and entertainment events around the globe, including: NAB in Las Vegas, MIPTV in Cannes, Los Angeles Film Festival, and the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. He has also been guest of some Fortune 500 companies around the globe. He is Chairman of the Advisory Board of BOBTV which holds every year in Abuja. Okoh now works at the Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, and is married with three children.

Victor Okhai is a producer, scriptwriter, director and film consultant. One of the founders of the Directors’ Guild of Nigeria.

Victor Okhai who holds an Msc in Public Relations from the University of Nigeria Nsukka, has attended courses in film production at NAFTI (Ghana), CIFAP (France), Deustche Welle Akademie (Germany) amongst others. He is also an Alumnus of the prestigious Pan African University Lagos.

Stephen Tayengwa CHIGORIMBO was born on April 5, 1951 at Chegutu, a small mining and agricultural town 100 kilometers west of Harare. He is a descendant of Mashayamombe, one of the leaders of resistance to imperialism in Zimbabwe in the late 19th century.

The socially and politically conscious Highfield High in the late 60s groomed Stephen in the arts particularly theatre, literature, music and movies when he wrote a screen play at sixteen. 
During and after high school Stephen acted and took part in Shakespearan plays like Othello and MacBeth, and others like Kongi’s Harvest by Wole Soyinka and many more.
